Wow, it works! My cat is frozen in front of the TV:
I have a very active outdoor cat who has been benched. She can no longer go outside and she is bored out of her mind and unhappy. If she's unhappy everybody is unhappy. She yowls and races around, knocks things over... I popped the DVD in and she ignored it for 20-30 minutes. Out of the blue she suddenly became focused on the video images and sounds. She was riveted to the TV. At first she climbed around the TV, nearby tables and chairs. Batted at the TV a few times. Then she settled in, sitting very upright and perfectly still. She did this for about 30 minutes. I've kept it on and she'll on and off go to the TV to watch. After she watches she's very playful and goes after her toys. She's been in motion for several hours now. The funniest reaction so far: she went into hunting mode, put the sneak on the TV, crept in, leaped at the TV, gave it a good swat and ran away. I believe this is the beginning of a good relationship. Toys, playtime, the dog, and now the DVD. Hopefully this will keep her stimulated, active and happy. I should mention the video and sound quality are very good. I've enjoyed listening to the bird songs as a I work. They have a nice variety of birds and you have the option for the common names of the birds to be displayed at the botton right corner of the screen. A nice side-effect is that I'm learning new bird songs and names. Not that I'm a birder, I know about three bird songs. :) I give a thumbs up.

My cat's loved it:
I have the first Cat Sitter Dvd and my kitties loved it. They love it so much they actually ask for it. They will sit in front of the tv like, "where are the birds?" When we got the second addition they were just as thrilled. But Volume II is more interactive. Humans can actually enjoy it. They have music tracks that can be turned on or off and captions explaining the bird names. They also have a Lazor Bug that my kitties go wild for. It was extremely enjoyable, and now when I leave my cats home alone, I know they are well entertained!!

Our first cat DVD:
This DVD has only birds. I wonder if the publishers of Cat Sitter I bought some bird fanatic's footage and threw some menus on the DVD. The footage is pretty high quality. The sounds are good for getting my cat's attention but it just sounds like a different track of bird chirps in a loop. The sounds always make my brother's dog look around the room to find out where the sounds are coming from. It took a few attempts to get our cat to notice this video. By the third time, it had him drawn in, chirping, and pawing at the TV. It no longer has the same effect, but he still seems to enjoy it. He just watches from a distance until he falls asleep. I can't say this DVD will work for every cat. I'm glad I have it but I would suggest trying a different DVD first.

DVD is very good:
I left this one for my kitties (5), i guess they've become so sophisticated. They don't want to find out where the noises are coming from. I even have surround sound and that should really get them going. I'll have to try a couple of more times and see if they come around. I've even purchased a small bird that chirps and they don't seem to be bothered with that either. Anybody else have unusual or stuck up felines

Cats love it, flat screen TV needs secured to wall though:
My three cats love this DVD, they'll sit and watch the entire thing in one sitting. The birds are realistic, so much so that one of our cats actually jumped INTO the TV screen trying to hunt the bird.... needless to say, securing your TV prior to viewing might be a good idea. Good things: -The DVD loops so you can leave it on all day if you wanted -The pictures are clear and the sound is nice -Human sub-titles are available if you want to watch w/ your cat Bad things: -The screen shots change quickly so if you have attentive cats like we do they don't have a lot of time to stalk their prey -The 2nd part of the DVD with the fire-fly chasing thing is kinda lame, the cats are not interested at all Overall, I give it a 4 and would suggest the DVD to friends.
