CAUGHT ON FIRE - not a joke:
1. This heater caught on fire the first time I used it. Less then two minutes after the heater coils lit up: "pop", flames and smoke. Buy this instead: A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. Which I didn't have to use, but was sure glad to own. 2. The handle is jointed, but does not stand up as shown in the photo. Instead, it lays against the heater body, so you have to touch hot metal when picking it up (as in when the heater is on fire). 3. Requires a dedicated outlet -- the second socket of the outlet may not be used. Which I presume is a "safety" feature, but isn't workable in an apartment.
BAD PRODUCT!:
I didn't actually buy through Amazon, but I saw it at an outlet and purchased there because it was selling for cheap and I needed something for the basement. Well low and behold, its VERY HOT to the touch and it smoked. Mind you I had it on a solid unfinished basement floor (not a rug). Although I didn't test it, i'm pretty sure a fire would have resulted if placed on a rug or near any semi-flammable item. I had to let it cool for sometime before i could move it. I eventually ended up junking it.
