SAVE YOUR MONEY: I initially purchased this oven because it not only looked good, but could cook a frozen pizza. The first one only worked less than a month before it had to be exchanged. Now the 2nd one quit working--has a short inside--keep banging it a couple of times until it finishes cooking. Worse toaster oven I had ever purchased. It is not dependable. Very disappointed. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T BUY THIS ITEM.
It's headed for the Goodwill!: My primary reason for buying this was to make toast. It holds two slices and cooks the bread only on the right side, so if you want it cooked evenly you have to rotate the bread half way through cooking. Also, if you want to cook another item right after you have just used it the heating elements wont come on. I'm guessing it must be some kind of safety feature that it has to completely cool down before you can use it again. I have broiled Costco frozen egg rolls in it and it worked great. All in all I would say that if you're just useing it to reheat food it would work fine, but as for me I'm on to the next toaster oven.
Fire Hazard - caught fire under three minutes.: My taco and tortilla chips caught fire after a few minutes in oven. Very dangerous product needs to be recalled. Wattage much too high and had problems with it burning toast from first usage. STAY AWAY FROM THIS TOASTER!
Does the job but lots of room for improvement: The oven looks good with a brushed stainless steel finish. I like the fact that the controls are simple old school dials - nothing digital to break. The things that need improvement: it easily tips to the front when the door is opened and the door mechanism is flimsy where it attaches to pull out the rack. It took quite a bit of fussing (and a little bending) to get the door to close and the rack to slide without undo resistance. Also, the outside gets dangerously hot so if it tips you can get burnt trying to grab the undersized handles. Although it makes good toast, it is slow to heat up. Worth the half off price I paid, but no more.
DISASTER! SCARY! Black and Decker, What Happened?: I take no pleasure in bashing a company but this toaster oven is a disaster from start to finish. As an engineer i appreciate good design. Nothing to admire here. Someone was clearly asleep at the wheel on this product. Where should i start. Firstly, the doors don't open smoothly. Half the time the door just hangs down. After a few uses the door hinges actually popped out of their holes because the two sides of the opening were too far apart, so now half the time the door actually falls off when you open it. I can't comment much on how well it works electrically because we stopped using it. Prefer not to risk our lives. Black and Decker, you should be ashamed of yourselves. os
