A Perfect Pan:
I purchased this pan for my daughter, an authentic "foody" cooking school graduate and several years professional cook in France and Swizerland. She rejected the previous recommended crepe pan from a prominent site, among other things,for being too small. So not easy to please. The Staub 12 /2" pan she says, needs only to be called PERFECT. She has hosted two crepe parties to great acclaim. As I sought to meet her need on the net for a pan of these specifications I found only items well in excess of $250. So perfect crepe pan, great buy.

More than I expected!:
Good pan! I just started using it, and I've made some tasty crepes! My very first crepe stuck to the pan a little bit, but it improved quickly with a little bit of use, and now they release very easily. The description says "enameled bottom," but it's actual enameled all over, like a Le Creuset pan, but all black. Furthermore, the box includes a crepe spreader and a flat spatula, neither of which is mentioned or pictured on the product page. The spreader is the round, dowel type, which is 1) the good kind, and 2) not available anywhere else on Amazon. The flat spatula/flipper thing is, unfortunately, wayyyy to short to be useful if you use the whole surface of the pan. I bought a 15" long model elsewhere, and that is perfect. I'm giving this 4 stars because it's expensive, but I'm quite happy with it. I couldn't find this pan (or anything like it) _anywhere_ else. Every other crepe pan I've found online or in stores has a lip to it, which makes it impossible to get underneath a paper-thin crepe that goes edge to edge. With this pan and the third-party spatula, I feel just like a real creperie chef! Well, at least I can fantasize thus.
