Works as expected:
I own this hand-held Bissell, and one if its upright cousins. I am happy with both. Before you purchase this product, you must understand what a carpet/upholstery cleaner can do. It's like a specialized shop-vac, and you're basically using it to clean a sweater. If you put the sweater in your laundry machine, lots of water goes through it. You need to do the same thing for carpets and furniture upholstery; keep pushing water through it. Good results require that you spray/vacuum over a small area many times before you go to the next area. That may be more work than you're willing to do. Similarly, the sweater won't get completely dry in the spin-cycle, and the carpet/upholstery will remain damp after you use the vac. Air-drying is required (unless you stand over it with a hair dryer, like you'd put a sweater in a drying machine). I just finished cleaning up dry kool-aid out of an area rug with this handheld. Even after using a dry vacuum first, it required about 10 cycles with this wet vacuum to make the spot unnoticeable. So in summary, if you're willing to put the work into cleaning, this is a great cleaning tool. If you're not willing to do the work, then consider hiring carpet/upholstery professional cleaners.
