Avoid this thermometer/hygrometer:
This hygrometer is a complete piece of junk. I have purchased other wireless weather instruments made by Oregon Scientific that were solidly constructed and quite accurate. But this Taylor instrument is awful. Place the indoor and remote outdoor units side by side on a table, and the temperature reading differed by 3 degrees (so much for 0.1 degree accuracy). Relative humidity readings differed on the indoor and outdoor units by 6 percent (again with them sitting on a table side by side). The LCD display is dim and hard to read except in bright light. The flimsy plastic case is cheaply made. The plastic hanger for the outside sensor will probably fall apart after a couple of battery changes. My recommendation is that you avoid this, or any product made by Taylor Instruments. Amazon delivery, as usual was quick.
Very good and useful:
This item is working very well. I use it for my pool to have the temperature in the house and it is working perfectly. We don't need to go outside to know the temperature of the pool. It's very sensitive and have the temperature at the near decimal. I am very happy that I bought that item. everyone of my friends want one now.
be aware:
this product along with remote sensor 1459 have been declared obsolete by manufacturer. taylor and at lesat one dealer -ambient weather- are still offering them without mentioning that. avoid both taylor and ambient weather
THIS ITEM SUCKS - DO NOT BUY:
This item is a complete piece of crap. Do not buy this item. Don't waste your money on this inaccurate piece of doo-doo. I bought the main unit (comes with remote) along with an additional remote. Placed on 3 on a table inside, table outside, inside wine frig, & inside freezer. In all 4 environemnts, I never got the 3 to record equivalent readings. Temp was off as much as 6 degrees and humidity as much as 30%. Not even 2 of the 3 ever matched in any environment. Sending back for a refund. DO NOT BUY!
