Stylish External Drive, But...:
I purchased this drive for $130 a couple months ago, intending to use it as a drive for all of my movies and TV shows (250GB used so far). I simply connected it to my Mac (the drive requires one USB port and a power outlet) and setup was a breeze. I was quickly able to add all of my media to the drive and play it back without a hitch. Also worth noting is that it connects perfectly to my Xbox 360. Now, I can watch my movies on my big screen downstairs. I've heard that fan-less hard drives such as this one tend to fail after about a year, so I've deducted a point from my rating. I will eventually have to purchase a SECOND drive because I don't want to risk losing all of my data. I think it's important to keep in mind.

So far, so good - works well.:
I purchased this as a USB External Hard Drive for my Digital Video Recorder (Moxi - Charter) and was concerned as to whether it had a sleep mode that would render it unusable for the DVR. I haven't encountered any sleep mode and it is going strong now after 2 months. My main concern now is longevity. I had a 500GB Fantom drive in the same spot and it didn't last a year. I am hoping this drive will last a couple of years or so. I contacted LaCie about it and they would not assure me that it would work for this purpose, but so far it is working fine. It looks fine, and has a blue light that blinks when data is transferring - which is actually a nice thing to let you know when the DVR is recording. If you didn't like the light, a small piece of black electrical tape would hide it unnoticeably. It is very quiet and I do not hear it running at all. So far I am very pleased with this external hard drive.

Great:
had the hard drive for over a mont and it is working great. was looking for a nas drive but got a great deal for this. have it hooked up to my network with some easy adaption and it does every thing i wanted the nas for except hooking into it from computer away from home. if you can pick this up for under 80 get it

Great HardDrive!:
It works well and is very fast. It also looks really cool. I've been running it for 2 weeks now w/o any problems.

Everything perfect, so far:
The hard drive looks beautiful. Very easy to install. A little noisy, but less than any other external hard drive I used before. Everything seems perfect, so far.
