She has cartoonish, oversized eyes and a head of curly hair, and comes dressed in a bib and a removable dress. Press the button on her bracelet to turn her on; she'll "wake up" and say "I Love You Mommy." When she talks, her eyes blink and her mouth moves in sync with her words. When she says "I'm hungry," that's the cue to feed her. The doll comes with a bowl and two baby food mixes. Mix one baby food packet with water and feed it to her with the included spoon. She'll "chew," ask for more, and say the food is yummy. She needs water, too: she can drink real water from the included baby bottle. Potty Training Time After she's done eating, the doll will say she has to go potty. Sit her on the included toilet, and she will really go. But watch out: if you wait too long, the doll will say, "Uh, oh, I had an accident," and she'll go in her diaper -- or all over you, if you're not careful! Totally disgusted!!!:
I love Amazon and have been a faithful Prime customer for years. I am totally disgusted with the fact that someone (private seller/Amazon/whoever) is trying to make an extra buck off the ethnic dolls via amazon.com. I found this doll at Target locally here in Tampa for $40...that's right F-O-R-T-Y B-U-C-K-S!!! I checked their site first and it said they were available in 'Limited Availability'. I immediately ran to the store to find one left.

Ridiculous:
I don't understand why the African American doll and Hispanic doll are $100 + more dollars than the white doll. I was fortunate enough to get one at Walmart.com because every single store I went to, did not have the African American doll in stock here in GA. I am quite sure they use the same materials, there is no justification for this price or lack of stock in stores.

Luckily I was able to buy my doll from Kohl's for 20 BUCKS!!:
This is indeed DISGUSTING!!! I bought 4 of these dolls (3 African American and 1 Hispanic) from kohls.com for my daughter and nieces for $(...) after coupons. Now I feel guilty for buying so many! If I had known that there was a shortage I would've never bought so many. People of Color are now the MAJORITY too bad the retailers refuse to believe it and make their inventory reflect this FACT!!

Can get messy!:
The doll says several neat phrases like, "No, thank you." She is kind of heavy but durable. Sitting her on the potty fast enough after she says she has to go was a little hard but she didn't go when she said she did. You have to finish the food or bottle for her to go to the bathroom. My daughter (7 yrs old) loves being a mommy.

African American Baby Alive:
Wow, my 6-year old niece was so excitied to receive an African American Baby Alive. The doll is great and allows young black children to practice motherhood through a doll designed for them. I only paid around $40 for the doll in October. I was amazed to find the exact doll is currently being sold for $168.99. The Hispanic doll is also overpriced at $88.88 where as Caucasian doll sells for $31.98. I don't understand why there is such a great difference with the ethnic dolls.
