Love this pad:
This pad is perfectly safe for babies, I'm sure the other reviewer hasn't actually seen one. No one is more paranoid than I am about this, believe me. This pad is only two inches thick - not like the 6" mattress toppers the other reviewer is likely thinking of - and once you add a mattress pad and sheet over it, the surface doesn't sink down enough to trap a baby's nose. It's a little hard to explain, but if you have a memory foam mattress, you'll know what I mean when I say the "sinkability" decreases once you add a mattress pad and sheet over it. I tested the safety of the pad by watching both my twin daughters with their faces planted directly nose-down, and still they could breathe without any hindrance. So as you can imagine the padding isn't much, but it still does help baby to sleep more comfortably. I have one pad already, and just purchased a second. The girls sleep soundly on this pad - typically 10-11 hours straight - whereas they wake up every hour with their unpadded crib mattress. It's just too uncomfortable for them. You can see why I had to buy a second one of these!
