I tried...and tried...and tried to enjoy this book!: Two coworkers told me that I had to read this book. That it was life changing. Long story short is that there are very few books that I flat out can't finish, and this is one of them. Half way through I finally quit, then a few days later gave it one more try and thirty minutes later quit again. I am a Christian and enjoy Christian fiction... so that is not the issue. It just seemed so badly written, nothing was believable and everything felt "made-up" and too childish. If this is what you have to do to sell millions of copies, I need to be a writer. Maybe I missed something? Sorry all, I gave it TWO thumbs down.
The Shack: An outstanding read. Content even pops into your mind during the day. It certainly broadens your consciousness. I would highly recommend it, in fact I have to several friends. Most people that I know have read it two & three times and I will be joining their ranks with highlighter in hand. I have been reading it slowly savoring it and tonight is my final chapter. I don't want it to be over.
MUST READ-The Shack: I have a hard time holding book & reading for any length of time.Audio books are great.I can listen too over & over.It as LINE by line;word for word.An exact duplicate. It IS a Christian analogy.I recommend EVERY Christian read it.It WILL deepen your your walk with God,Jesus and the Hoy Spirit.A wonderful easy o understand
I didn't agree with "the buzz": It was a struggle to get through this book for me. I found the concept to be so far-fetched that I couldn't buy into it. I guess it's not for everyone...
"The Shack" makes you stop and think: I went into reading this book a little cynical, but after spending the time reading it with a more open mind...it was a life changing event for me. I would recommend this book to anyone that has questions, or already has a deep faith..it re-affirmed my faith..it made me feel like although I wasn't a bible toting person..and that I didn't attend church regularly I was still okay with God..I hate to sound so cliche but it did change the way that I look at religion..and it did have a huge affect on my personal relationship with God. Thank you for this wonderful book..and God Bless you for having the courage to write it..
