Basis for a satisfying lunch or appetizers: This is really easy to use: a cup of the falafel mix, a cup of water, mix, wait 30 minutes and then fry or bake. The directions say to deep fry; however, we haven't done that -- just pan fry in some olive oil and flip like a burger. We've served it in pita bread with plain yogurt, cucumber and veggies and it is delicious, nutritious and filling.
Vegan Natural Choice: Vegan. Natural. Just add water, wait 30 minutes, then roll into balls and deep fry in hot vegetable oil for 1-3 minutes. (Baking after light dipping in vegetable oil for alternate preparation.) Potluck sensation! Very tasty. 180 Kcal and 12g protein per 56g serving for falafel mix. 8 servings per box. Makes about 24-30 one inch (2.5cm) diameter falafel balls per box. Goes great when dipped in or topped with Annie's Goddess dressing Annie's Naturals Goddess Dressing, 1-Liter Bottle (Pack of 3) or Annie's Naturals Goddess Dressing, 1.5-Ounce Packets (Pack of 60). Pretty good: I've bought other falafel mixes and this one is decent, but not the best. Most mixes take about 15 minutes to thicken after water is added. This one takes at least 30 minutes. Even then, it might not be thick enough. I have broiled the falafels rather than deep frying, so the fact that they are "wetter" than most falafels is actually a good thing since they don't get dried out. The falafels do taste great.
