Circles in the Water: Circles in the Water is a great story full of conflicted emotion. Readers will relate to the love, the lies, the conflict and the tragedy. The characters are so well defined that readers will be reminded of those in their own childhoods who could easily have been the characters in this book. It is a well written story of suspense and drama. Readers will anxiously await Dr. Hays' next novel.
Circles in the Water: Circles in the Water A friend who told me about this book called it a "real page-turner" and said he couldn't put it down. I found it to be exactly that. It is well written and interesting and a very good read.
Strong Southern Characters: I just finished this book and wanted to comment while it is fresh in my mind. This book is well written with strong well defined characters. I spent some years in the south and recognize the character of Allou Broder whose caring and decency is typical of southern women. And a Mack Brown who takes Jimmie Broder under his wing and teaches him how to take a menial job and have the chance of building it into a career. Unfortunately bad decisions and unfortunate circumstances cause Jimmie and his friends to make many mistakes. Yes, that happens in the South, like everywhere else. The well-plotted story, even better because of the way it blends present and past, helps us understand why things happened the way they did. This is a good read.
