Finding Kylie

Totally Awesome:
Finding Kylie I started this book on a Friday and finished on Saturday. If not for having other things that I had to do, I would and could have sat in one sitting and finished this story. The author, being one of our Oklahoma gals did a truly, totally AWESOME JOB on this book. You lived the characters; you held your breath for the story to continue to see what comes next. YOU BECAME THE STORY. Kimberly McKay made you feel like you were the people in the book. This book was easy reading, most relaxing, and VERY ENJOYABLE.... I cannot wait for Kimberly's next book... You can rest assured I will be first in line to get my copy. I have recommended this book to everyone I meet. I could shout it from the rooftops... It has been sometime since an Author has totally awed me... I will be watching for much more from Kimberly McKay. I have become in just a few short days her #1 fan. We can expect many greats from this Lady. I guarantee it...

Simply Delighted:
I have to say that this is such a great story. You'll easily fall in love with all of the characters in this book...even the ones who weren't the main characters. It's so well written that you can picture every scene and character...just as you would in a movie. You won't be disappointed at all...this book will get a hold of you like you never imagined before. From the beginning to the end, you will find yourself wanting to keep reading. Now that I'm done reading it, I'm already wanting more.

Find Kylie...Find a Great Book!:
Finding Kylie is an excellent first novel from freshman novelist Kim McKay. It is a great story told in an extremely innovative way; combining flashback, past narrative via a journal and first person narrative internal thought. These all combine to keep the story building in pace and intensity throughout the book. And the emotional turmoil of both the protagonist and her deceased mother (told through a diary) are deftly handled. What I enjoyed most about this novel was how easy of a read it was, the characters were well thought through and the fact that the story is told through the aforementioned variety of techniques. The end of the novel is left sufficiently open enough to expect a follow up. I hope there is one, as I personally look forward to this burgeoning talent bloom into a wonderfully accomplished novelist with a fantastically unique voice.

A Touching Story:
Kimberly McKay wrote a touching story that makes you tear-up and laugh on the same page. Her character, Chastity, is faced with trying to find out who she is because at her home she was not allowed to ask questions about her past. Ms. McKay allows the story to unfold with rhythm and suitable pace. Insightful prose make this book a delight.

Loved it loved it loved it...:
I couldn't put it down. This book draws you in from page one, and takes you on a tightly written journey of self discovery and survival. Kimberly McKay does a wonderful job covering many issues in today's world, in a 20 something year old's life. This story follows both mother and daughter through an amazing journey of twists & turns. These two characters were easy to relate to and fall in love with. I can't wait to see what happens in Chastity's life, and with the open ended storyline...I know there's a sequel coming. I highly recommend this book!
